Chief Information Officer, Shared Services · Technology and Transformation · Cyber Security and Risk · Governance
Thirty years in regulated environments, currently Chief Information Officer, Shared Services, at IANZ, providing group technology services to Telarc under a shared services agreement. Brought in when the stakes are high, legacy estates to modernise, programmes that have stalled, and cyber risk boards need in language they can act on.
Available for CIO, CDTO and EGM appointments, and for board roles where technology, cyber security, data or transformation are material to strategy and risk. Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia.

Enterprise digital strategy turned into board-endorsed roadmaps across CRM, ERP, cloud and cyber, with benefits tracked to realisation and the operating rhythm to sustain change.
Decision-ready reporting to boards and audit and risk committees. Governance, policy and controls aligned to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and the NZISM, in language directors can act on.
Identity-first, Zero Trust security uplift: Entra ID, conditional access, privileged identity management and 24/7 monitoring through Microsoft Sentinel and SOC-as-a-service.
Appointed CIO across International Accreditation New Zealand, an Autonomous Crown entity, with group technology services provided to Telarc under a shared services agreement, as the mandate expanded from the initial CRM engagement to the full technology estate. Executive accountability for technology, cyber security and digital transformation across both organisations, leading a board-endorsed enterprise transformation spanning CRM, ERP, finance, HRIS, cyber security and infrastructure, with end-to-end ownership of programme governance, procurement, commercial negotiation, legal review and stage-gate assurance.
Engaged to modernise the Accreditation Services CRM capability. Work on the CRM surfaced broader risk and capability gaps across the wider technology estate, and that evidence informed the case for an expanded enterprise mandate and the subsequent appointment as Chief Information Officer.
Executive accountability for cyber security and resilience across national critical infrastructure on hybrid cloud: the NZ ePrescription Service, Connected Care, and the Whānau Tahi Navigator social outcomes platform, deployed in New Zealand and federally in the United States. Scaled a Māori-led not-for-profit through secure cloud modernisation and COVID-19 disruption.
Advised banks, insurers, healthcare providers, utilities and governments across New Zealand, Australia, China and Singapore on cloud adoption, governance and operating model change. Co-authored 12 Steps to Modern Service Management, adopted across Microsoft teams in USA, New Zealand and Australia.
Brought in to recover delivery and strengthen release governance on Westpac One, the bank's new internet banking platform, in a high-consequence environment after prior attempts had failed.
Origins, carrier-side. The first fifteen years were spent inside the networks themselves: complex data provisioning and operations at Telecom New Zealand and Gen-i Australasia, then ITIL ITSM service leadership across Sky TV, Auckland Council, Vodafone and Tower. When the mandate touches critical infrastructure, that heritage is the difference between overseeing it and understanding it.
Ko Tāmaki Makaurau te kāinga. He kaihautū ahau e ū ana ki te mahi ngātahi, te kōrero pono, me te tiaki i te kaupapa mō ngā reanga e heke mai nei.
My leadership is grounded in te ao Māori, guided by manaaki, tika and kawenga. Alongside Crown entity accountability, that grounding builds the public trust regulated organisations depend on. It is also why five analysts I mentored now hold senior engineering roles.
